RECAP! July Birthday Circle Time (2019)

Birthday songs were sung!

Over 10 families joined us yesterday at the cooperative playgroup for a low key meet up, where we sang a few new songs during circle time with everyone. Therese, brought out the egg shakers to sing along to “The Finger Family (Extended Family)” nursery rhyme by Bounce Patrol. Our playgroup favorite, the parachute, was also used to sing along to the “B-I-N-G-O” nursery rhyme. We followed up with a jam session to the Chicken Rhythm.

After that was story time with Mariam, she read “Papa, Please Get the Moon for Me” by Eric Carle. It’s a story about a girl named Monica who wants to play with the moon. However, she can’t really reach it, so she asks her Papa to get it for her. The book unfolds into extended pages showing just how massive and how willing her father is to get the moon for Monica.

We followed up with free play and lunch afterwards. Thankful for our parents who came in with their kiddos dressed in their jinbei’s. We hope you had fun at our playgroup yesterday.

A special thank you to the parent volunteers who came in to set up and help with clean up at the playgroup. Your efforts are greatly appreciated!

Next week, we will continue on with another low key playgroup meet up. We are greatly enjoying this mild summer albeit rainy weather, but if you’re ever looking for a space to cool off, relax and have your littles enjoy some indoor activities then our Tuesday playgroup is a place for you to come by.

If you would like to join in our discussions about organizing and running the coop, we will gladly add those who have attended playgroup to our Coop Volunteers Discussion Group on Facebook. It isn’t searchable, so send us a message or email at cooperativeplaygroup12@gmail.com. Please note- advice is nice but we need HELP to actually keep the coop going. We do occasionally remove members from the volunteer discussion group who have become inactive or no longer attend playgroups.
