RECAP! Deep Sanitizing Morning (2019)

July 2, 2019

Yesterday morning our playgroup had a relaxed get together. We skipped our usual circle time and story time but used the morning instead to sanitize our carpets, toys and play area. We were so elated to see all the families that showed up and helped out with our deep clean. Very thankful to the 13 families who came yesterday! You made our simple gathering fun!

Sato, one of our parent volunteers, was gracious enough to bring this non toxic cleaning solution to spray on our toys and bins. If you are curious about this kid friendly cleaning solution, please reach out to Sato or stay tuned for her “Introduction to Essential Oils Class” event on July 23rd. Thankful for the moms who used some elbow grease to wipe all our those toys & took some dirt off on our carpets & bins. Thankful for the group of kids who also took part of the cleaning brigade & showed us that cleaning can be super cute too!

Cleaning is a teachable moment for our young friends. We hope they learned that it’s also important to take care of the things special to you if you would like to play with it more & be able to share it with others. As parents, it is never too late to start a lesson like this in ever curious minds, a moment like this shows them that they’re part of the community and they too have a special position as well as responsibility in our fun village.

What a wonderful way to cap off the busy morning by having lunch together. Once again thank you for being a part of our cooperative playgroup today. We appreciate you!

Next week, our July 9th Info Session on Parent’s in Japan event will unfortunately be rescheduled for a later date.

However, our playgroup instead will use the day to celebrate our July birthday celebrants with a fun birthday circle time! We will also be celebrating the Star Festival, where our little friends are welcome to wear their comfy yukata. If you own a yukata and have been looking for an opportunity to wear it, Tanabata day at our playgroup next week is the perfect time for it.
